Helping people is already part of who Sam is.

Sam Dickson is a licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent, Medicare Benefit Specialist, firefighter and EMT serving Syracuse and Central New York.

His professional work includes Medicare, life insurance, critical illness coverage, long-term care insurance, annuities and retirement planning conversations, along with Medicare and TRICARE considerations for eligible veterans. His community service as a first responder shapes the way he approaches the work: prepare carefully, explain clearly and show up when people need help.

Sam is affiliated with Bankers Life and works with individuals and families to understand their options and make informed decisions based on their own needs and goals.

Sam Dickson was born June 28, 1979, to the late Susan Loeffler and Joe Dickson of New Woodstock, New York. One of six children, Sam grew up with two brothers and three sisters, surrounded by the values of family, hard work and community.

His education took him to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, New York, and High Point University in North Carolina. More recently, Sam added a cybersecurity certification to a background that reflects a lifelong curiosity, an analytical mindset and a natural ability with numbers.

Before expanding into insurance, Medicare and retirement planning, Sam spent 25 years in restaurants and hospitality. That experience taught him how to listen, solve problems, work under pressure and take care of people—skills that still shape the way he works with clients today.

Sports and community have also been part of Sam’s life from an early age. He played Little League in Camden, New York, and later spent two years coaching Little League himself. His family’s personal experiences have also given him meaningful experience supporting and advocating for children with special needs and their families.

At home, Sam shares life with his fiancée and two stepchildren—and a household that includes three cats and a bearded dragon. He is an enthusiastic animal lover, and when he gets some free time, you are likely to find him golfing or skiing.

Whether he is helping someone understand Medicare, volunteering as a firefighter or EMT, coaching, working with a family, or simply being there for the people closest to him, the common thread is simple: Sam believes in showing up for people.

Outside of his professional work, Sam stays closely connected to the community he serves. He is a firefighter and EMT, a Little League coach, and is involved with organizations and initiatives that support families and strengthen Central New York.
